Freelance Sign Language Interpreter

We are expanding! Are you an experienced sign language interpreter? Would you like a job that offers you the opportunity to help people communicate, while at the same time, take you to places that you may never normally go?

Apply for one of our freelance sign language interpreter roles in the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago. 

Our sign language interpreters are professionals who facilitate communication between the Deaf and the hearing.  They do this primarily by using sign language, which varies throughout the Caribbean, from nation to nation. The sign language interpreters we recruit are highly skilled individuals:  In order to carry out their duties effectively, it is necessary that they possess both strong English and sign language skills.  Excellent listening skills, a good memory and strong research skills are also qualities of the astute Caribbean Sign Language Interpreter. 

The role involves interpreting on behalf of members of the local Deaf and Hard of hearing community in a number of settings including schools, conferences, media houses and places of worship, both online and in-person.

The job necessitates flexibility and punctuality, excellent soft skills and the ability to serve as an advocate.
